Chapter 6: The agent

Human in the loop

Also called Approval prompt, Prompt fatigue

A person has to approve at a chosen point before the work continues. That point could be each command, each plan or each merge.

An approval only counts if it gets read. Ask too often and people click yes without looking, and then there is a human in the loop but no check. A few approvals on things that matter beat fifty on things that don't.

Say it to your agent

“Don't stop to ask about edits or test runs. Do stop and ask me before any git push, any migration, any new dependency, and anything that writes outside this repo. List those back to me before you start.”
