Chapter 11: Design

KISS

Also called Keep it simple

Keep it simple, stupid. Prefer the plainest design that does the job, because someone will have to fix it under pressure one day, without its author there to explain it.

An agent doesn't pay for cleverness when it writes, and the next session reads it cold. On its own this rule is too vague to enforce, so turn it into something specific that you can check.

Say it to your agent

“Two nested generics and a factory for one caller is too much. Rewrite this as a plain function with explicit arguments. If a new reader needs more than a minute to follow it, it isn't finished.”
