Chapter 12: Review

AI code reviewers

A product that reads your pull requests with a model and leaves comments on the lines it doubts. Most of them comment and leave the decision with a person.

They catch things no rule can express, and they cost tokens, take time, and give a different answer on a second run. Their vendors know this: the common default is that the bot's opinion is not an approval. Treat one as a very fast colleague who has never met your users.

Say it to your agent

“Add a REVIEW.md telling the reviewer to report only logic errors and security holes, each with the input that triggers it, and to ignore style because Biome handles that. Then run /code-review on this branch and show me what it says.”
